Hemingway Wentz Interview

First off its rare we get to interview a celebrity dog, and rare that people get to read interviews with celebrity dogs or any dog for that matter.Hows about you tell us about the day in the life of Hemingway wentz?
well woah, I'm not sure if everyone is ready to hear about a day in the life of Hemingway wentz but ill say it anyways just make sure you don't get too over whelmed first off i wake up. i usually then go and start licking my father to wake him up, then i go for a walk if he isn't feeling too lazy. eat. sleep. eat. chew up stuff. poop. eat. sleep. poop.eat again maybethen go to sleep for the night and repeat the cycle the next day.amazing... i know haha

So the question that will break a lot of girls hearts, are the rumors true that you date Penny Stump? (If so we want details) and your myspace status says engaged..please explain
I don't think there is any woman that can tame this beast right here.and when i went with penny it was like kissing your cousin (not that i know how that feels...)so it didn't work out too well shes just like a sister to me and plus I'm a total ladies man and I'm very much single so girls get at me i prefer bitches over human girls though.wait.yeah yeah i prefer bitches it just sounds pretty odd

How is it having a father like Pete wentz?
I bet you get really spoiled!!! Do you feel that having him as a father helps you to pull the ladies easier?hes an amazing father and I'm so much of a daddy's boy. were best friends .but with the ladies?not really, he stinks more than i do so pretty much the ladies tend to turn the other way when hes around, to save their nose from burning off cause of the fumes he possesses

What is your relationship like with the other members of fall out boy?
my relationship with them is great, i love them so much. and its cool when my father goes on tour cos i get to see them more often. How does it feel to be named after such an iconic writer?

Do you have any aspirations of going down in history?
i tried to read Hemingway's stuff but then got bored so i just ate the book, true story haha. well i don't really want to go down in history just go on your shirts.which is why you should buy stuff from my poppas clothing line

If you could choose your favorite fall out boy song which would it be?
well of course the take over, the breaks over the whole fucking video is about me hahano im not that concietedI think that one that goes "im also into cats duh duh duh duh im also into cats"i think its called this aint a scene hah
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
in five years i see my self settled down with a pretty french bulldogliving in the suburbs of Chicago with 10 kids and a pet mouse

We have seen you make several appearances in Fall out boy videos, have you considered a career in acting or do you have other plans?
I'm sticking on being a model for Clandestine for right now. Its a hard job just sitting their while they take pictures of me...I might do surreal life or a reality tv show based on finding the perfect soul mate though.just joking haha

Do you have any plans to go find your birth parents?
I know where they're at.Boring story though I wish I could be one of those dogs on homeward bound or whatever trying to find their way back home.or maybe like on legally blonde where they try to find the chihuahuas dog oh yeah i forgot to tell you.i have a new best friend well another one hes a chihuahua named Paco.hes one cool cat well in better terms dog

If you were stranded on a desert island what would you take with you and why?
If I was stranded on an deserted island i would take with m emy magical genie that i keep in my closet to grant me wishes.cos for one he'll keep me company and two he can magically make ten thousand dog bones appear right in front of my very colored blind eyes

Your favorite band apart from fall out boy?
well i have a fewwww. decaydance.com

So tell us the secret of how a dog types?
Its really simple.get a prosthetic hand, and just roll with it

How do you feel about other celebrity dogs trying to follow in your paw prints by creating myspace pages?
I sorta realized that lots and lots of dogs started having myspaces, but its cool and all.I just think its kind of weird that some of my friends have 8734988 myspaces of them for example hobo and succah

So can you tell us any hints about what is next from fall out boy?
A little birdy told me that there are songs being written, but they're not in the studio.not yet that is What did you think of the beat it video?its sweet, what more can you ask forMichael Jackson is dope brah

Would you like to add or say anything else?
I like the word salamander.and sorry for all of the fucked up spelling.i am a dog and so as dogswii kant spuhell

Bloody Tourist Interview

Bloody Tourists Interview & Review
Written, Reviewed, & Interviewed by Darcy
Q: I sat down and looked through your blogs, and websites reading about your music, what inspires your work, and read about you guys a little. The people that you guys are inspired by are great music artists, and people the same. Oddly enough I wanted to ask what is it about Elvis Presley that inspires the band?
JAMES:Elvis Presley’s music does not inspire the band, it inspires the guitarist, James Cradock. James used to be a huge fan of the man, taken in by his passion for the music as well as his skills as an entertainer. One of the reasons James first decided to buy a guitar was to play the old rock and roll songs Elvis had made famous and to learn Hank William’s classic ‘I’m so lonesome I could cry’ also recorded by Elvis.
Q: Your website says “Bloody Tourists came into being on the eve of 2005" Was there any reason for that day in particular? Or was it something like a spur-of-the-moment?
JAMES: Bloody Tourists formed off the back of a rock tribute band, Moneyshot. Lee and James had been members of Moneyshot for a few years and had written songs for the band which got them a slot in Glastonbury in 2004. James was the singer and frontman whilst Lee played Bass.
LEE: After watching the shite bands in battle of the bands at moles. Jeez, there was some shit. I wanted to redress the balance and stand up for great music, not just a load of Brit pop or Peaarl Jam copiests. I wanted to show there was another way, I had no idea we'd end up second place in the next years comp. I hope we inspired other like-minded people that music isn't just for musos, it's for people who likemusic and having a great time.
Q: As someone that comes across a lot of new/”MySpace” bands; I have taken to spreading the good word about a band whenever I hear them. How does Bloody Tourists get there name out there?
JAMES: Songwriting was hard in Moneyshot . James and Lee threw ideas onto the table, the other band members snubbed them, looking for a more ‘Rage against the machine’ sound. As frustrations grew, James and Lee decided to branch off and write songs for a new project. Now having no guitarist James decided to learn to play, working hard to figure out his favourite songs and get to know the instrument. Within a couple of months James and Lee had written enough songs to fill a 20 minute set and were ready to take their creation to the masses.James has been in bands since he was 16 as a singer and had met Dave a few years back in a original band called ‘Cognito’. Dave was the obvious choice for a drummer and with Dave now on board we needed a venue to host us.The Wunderbar in Midsomer Norton, the south west of England had gained respect for James as every band he had been in had managed to fill the venue and so offered this new venture a Saturday night, The first Saturday night in 2005. This was the chance to play in front of a crowd and seeing as the gig was only 4 months after we’d first left Moneyshot it was a deadline that we frantically had to prepare for. The gig went extremely well. The crowd loved us, not for the musicianship (as we were all still beginners), not for the image (as we all wore garish blue trousers and red tops), but for the sheer audacity of forming a band so quick and writing songs so quick and for the energy for put into the tunes. The first song we wrote was Gram and a Half which still remains untouched from it’s original form and has won a few song writing awards online, one being from littlebizaar. com.Bloody Tourists, during the first year or so, played prolifically around the South West of England in order to spread the name about. It is a name that is easily remembered which helps. In more recent times we have used the internet more to our benefit and have found fans using myspace, basically searching it for fans of our sort of music and sending them a message to join our mailing list. Every one who joins our mailing list, incidentally, receives a few free songs, a monthly newsletter, and the chance to win a t-shirt and limited edition 7” vinyl. We are at the stage now that we will start to look for representation of sorts so that we can use someone who has the relevant contacts to help push our career. This time last year, we were signed to an American Management company who had found us on the internet and had liked what they had heard. It all looked good for a while but then it became evident that they did not have the contacts or the determination that we needed, they could d no more than we were doing for ourselves.Promoting a band is not an easy task, we have been told by many people how great our music is and that we have very good potential but this never seems to lead us to the next step. We are looking at getting more media exposure at the moment.
Q: Funland, that right there is a unique song. A lot of your music has a unique title fallowed by unique lyrics. [I like it.] Do ideas just come to Lee Elkins, or does the band bounce ideas off each other.
JAMES: Lee writes the lyrics and melodies and James writes the tunes. The lyrics are Lee's babies and no influence from other band members is welcome (or needed).
LEE: Glad you noticed... not many songs as genius as Funland out on the net!! First off, I don't write the songs, the band do. I bring a heap of lyrics I've written, James brings his latest riffs and Dave, well Dave brings his cigarettes, and his drums. We try and push the maddest ideas, it's very important to us to be different,.Having said that Funland was weird. James started playing the opening riff just jamming and almost immediately the words and the delivery of the first verse were pouring out of my mouth and mind almost exactly as they are now. When I write lyrics I tend to just write an outline about a person or place or experience. One thing I can tell you is that all the people and places and experiences have existed in my life at one point.
Q: You guys place your music into the genres of Garage/Punk/ New Wave. What is New Wave? JAMES: We have had our music placed in the Garage / New wave category by the media. It's basically just rock 'n' blues with scratchy, dirty melodies and lyrics. I think garage refers to the 1970's Garage scene, with the Velvet Underground, The Stooges etc which, unwittingly, we have been placed. The band love Velvet Underground but not to a point of imitation. We have all bought influences to the table which has evolved into our sound.
LEE: Oh come on! It's the american equivalent to punk. The 'New Wave' of back to basics punk rock ie 'The Ramones' etc... attempted to overthrow the 'Old Wave' widdlely up it's own ass mega rock ie Yes, Chicago, etc...
Q: As a band, how did you guys get your name? Bloody Tourists is an interesting one, I will admit.
LEE: We hang out in Bath, somerset, it's a cool place but it's a world heritage site so it's always packed with 'bloody tourists', hence the name. Not a day goes by without a local muttering our name under their breath if they go into town.

Bloody Tourists Review
As a music lover, it is really nice to have the opportunity to write a review here. Bloody Tourists is a band from United Kingdom. They have a "garage/punk" sound, and very unique lyrics. They are greatly inspired by music artists, such as: The Pixies, The Stone Roses, The Raconteurs, Jimi Hendrix, and The White Stripes. Next time you have the time you should check them out. They bring another dash of diversity to the music scene.

The Cab New Album Review

THE CAB WHISPER WAR
Album Review by Sarah
Every so often a band will come along who will really give you that feeling, the chills up your spine and that sometimes annoying feeling when you have this song stuck over and over in your head. This was my reaction when I first heard Las Vegas rockers 'The Cabs' Demo on myspace a few months ago. I knew this band would be huge as soon as I heard there one and only demo 'I'll Run' a song which everybody who heard wanted more of. For months The Cab kept there fans hanging on with just one demo while they recorded there full length EP. 'Have a little Faith in me' As the lyrics of I'll run said and the fans did have a little faith in them and stuck round patiently for the album. It takes a lot to keep your fans around with just one song for all those months and that song was just about enough to keep those fans desperately wanting more and prepared to wait.
Whisper War was released on Fueled by Ramen and Decaydance records earlier this week. The band (who were discovered by fellow Las vegas band Panic at the disco) were in a catch 22 situation they could either write 12 more songs which had to be as good as I'll run or they would be a one demo wonder and fade off out of stardom. As soon as I heard the first song I was hooked. 'One of those nights' was the perfect opener to the record. Featuring vocals from Brendon Urie and Patrick Stump the band proved in just the one song that opened this album that they were going to be everything the fans expected and more. There was something more to them than just that one song and boy was I in for a treat. Each song on the album was powerful with a touch of class and originality from lead singer alex Deleons soulful voice, amazing guitar riffs and catchy melodies and lyrics, its hard to believe most of these guys have only just left school in the past year and to have achieved so much sucess in that time with their fanbase it proves that this guys are destined for the big time.Bounce is the kind of song that you would dance to in a club, it has that poppy feel to it, if I could even compare this song to an n'sync song.Alex definetley has that sort of voice to pull off a pop song on a rock record! I'll Run - The song everybody just can't get out of their head, this is a beautiful stand out masterpiece of modern rock music. Maybe one of the best demos I've heard from a band in a long time except the song was finally polished up in the studio and sounds 10 times more amazing right now! With the familiar Piano rifts, the catchy chorus and lyrics, and once again the fantastic vocals. I believe this song could be the bands first success in the commercial world.Listening through upbeat songs high hopes and velvet ropes and party song 'That 70's song' this band can do your ears no harm. You'll be singing these songs all day. The whole album is just packed with talent, its not hard to see how these guys got signed to one of the most successful independant music labels in the world 'Fueled By Ramen'. The quality, the music, the performance, the lyrics and the band members are of the highest standard. The band closes with 'The city is contagious' by this time I am glad I put 'a little faith' In this band and waited for their record. 2008 is going to be the year of the Cab. Check out whisper war for yourself by going to the Fueled by ramen webstore or buying it for $9.99 at target (if you live in the USA)

Heloise and the Savoir Faire Interview

Heloise & the Savoir Faire Interview
Written and Interviewed by Rachel

I was surfing the web when my friend suddenly posted a video comment on my myspace. "Check it out" was the attached phrase to the video. I shrugged and played the video. The music blasted through my speakers. My foot was tapping, a good sign. "A new age is gettin' nearer," she started to sing, "A psychic told me I'm gonna die." Well those aren't lyrics you hear every day, I thought. Halfway through the song my whole body was moving to the music. I loved the energy of the song. The electric, 80's infused with pop sound enchanted my musical soul...is that too deep to understand? By the end of the song I was dancing wildly around my room. Good thing there wasn't an audience in my room at the time; some moves are too good to be seen. -grins-"Who are they?" I asked my friend."Who?" she replied."The band," I said, "I love them!""Oh I dunno," she said, "I just wanted to show you Elijah.""Ok but what did you think of the band? They're awesome!" I answered still trying to figure out who they were."She screamed at me."That was my introduction to Heloise & the Savoir Faire, through a friend who had no attention of introducing me to the band, but how cute Elijah Wood looked in the video. Lovely! (Now you understand why I say I meet bands by accident.)Heloise & the Savoir Faire gained most of their popularity through the Graham Norton Show; this was the clip my friend sent me. Since then thousands of viewers and myself have been following the band. Recently I summed up the confidence to ask Heloise & the Savoir Faire for an online interview for the Fueled by Music E-zine. They're going to turn me down, I said to myself, most of these bands do. Either that they never reply. The next day Sarah (my editor/boss) told me Heloise & the Savoir Faire agreed to an interview.
WTH, was my first reaction, then it was followed by endless jumping and screaming. But of course they wouldn't know that because I replied, "Ok awesome. Should I send you the questions through email or is myspace ok for you?"

The Questions

1. What’s the origin of your band name? Have you changed the name before or has it always been Heloise & the Savoir Faire?

It used to be called Heloise and the Savoir Faire Dancers. The "band" was based on some kooky videos that Joe and my friend Missy Bly and I did in Burlington, VT about an aspiring dance troupe trying to make it big in NYC. They were disgusting but funny and I have no idea where those videos are now and it sort of terrifies me.

2. When did you form your band? What inspired you to make music together?

I formed the "band" which was just me and a laptop and two dancers (I guess) in 2001, but we didn't get a band together until like 2004. I got sick of the canned music thing and wanted to perform again with live musicians. They played over the tracks and it sounded awesome and then we started to collaborate without the computer. Now it's about half with a track and half without.

3. Where have you performed?

City wise, we've performed in Tokyo, London all over New York city and a couple shows in LA and Boston and Burlington, VT.

4. Could you briefly explain the lyrics of your song "Odyle?"

Odye is an arbitrary measurement of electro-magnetism, a term created by a guy named Baron von Reichenbach a contemporary of Mesmer's. I sort of put some "old science" ideas together with this new ageism stuff that's happening now.

5. What bands have influenced your music style?

Prince and Kiss Fm (the radio station) in New York.

6. What has been your biggest challenge as a band?

Well we're sort of going through our biggest challenges now. It's hard to make a living as a musician so it's about balancing your day or night job with the being able to tour and live and eat and stuff like that.

7. You have had the chance to meet some well-known people, such as Deborah Harry and Elijah Wood, how has meeting them shaped your band?

Professionally, we wouldn't be doing what we're doing if I hadn't met Elijah. He has totally helped get the band's music out to many more ears than we could have previously imagined. He's also a dear friend so he's enriched our lives on a personal level as well. Meeting Debbie was like a dream come true. The fact that she likes the band has psychically lifted me. To have this kind of street credit has had a hugely calming effect. I still can't believe that she came and sang on the album. I can't believe I had the nerve to ask her!!!

8. Do you get nervous before shows? If so, how do you overcome this?

Yes generally I do get nervous and have a sort of sour pit in my stomach. I usually have a drink before I go on stage (not for the stomach but it's nice for my mind) to ease my anxiety. I also put on a ton of make-up which I find meditational.

9. What is more important to you in a song, lyrics or music?

Ummmmmmm I can't decide. They're all important.

10. Is there anyone you’d like to acknowledge for offering you financial or emotional support?

I like to thank my parents for being really really accepting and generous and believing in this crazy choice that I've made with my life. Elijah too has been an enormous help financially we wouldn't have a record without him.
